Alkaline Ionized Water

What Do Ionizers Do?

A water ionizer has several functions:

  1. To Purify.
  2. To Alkalize
  3. To Ionize (reduction of molecules)

Purify

This means taking tap water and removing all bacteria, living organisms, heavy metals, and biological contaminants like flouride and other poisons used to treat most municiple water. Life Ionizers are available with a UV filter that further purifies the water to hospital grade sterility.

Alkalize

This substantially increases the pH of your existing tap water. Ionized water has a pH of 9.5 to 11. In comparison, many brands of bottled water are acidic and measure between 4.5 and 6 on a pH scale. Most sodas and energy drinks are 3.0-5.5 on a pH scale. Compare your favorite water on this pH chart.

Ionize

The size of the water molecule is reduced from a cluster of 11-13 molecules to 5-6 molecules, and the water is negatively charged by an electrolysis process which gives it a negative ORP(Oxygen Reduction Potential). A negative ORP means that water (or food) is an anti-oxidant that eliminates harmful 'free radicals'. A positive ORP means that water (or food) is virtually dead, and has no benefits for eliminating 'free radicals'. Tap or bottled water has an ORP of +300mv to +500mv and is virutally dead. Ionized water has an ORP of -300mV to -800mV depending on the machine you use and is one of the best anti-oxidants we can consume.
